"Put your hands up" but carefully

Marketing classes are very interactive. Some cases have multiple people trying to pitch in valuable points. At times people wait long for their turn.

Today, something happened that had some amount of inevitability attached with it. A guy (who always puts in good points) raised his hand for a long time. And then his mind wandered in the vast jungles of marketing fundas.

But his hand did not accompany him there!!!!!
The raised hand stuck out there for the prof to finally call him out.

Prof: Allright you there?
Guy: No response
Another Guy prods ...
Our guy comes back from the jungle, but cannot recall the question.
He spends a few excruciating seconds to recall and finally gives up with a remark.
"I raised my hand for so long, I cannot remember why I did it".
